Kicking off the Junior Eurovision week with a bang (or more accurately, a lot of bell-ringing), the Opening Party and Running Order ceremony took place last night at the rather stunning 250-year baroque-style Manoel Theatre. Sharleen Wright brings you the highlights and photos from the live event that was broadcast live across Malta on TV and streamed across the world.

What, if anything, is Eurovision to a wide-eyed Europhile but a great chance to immerse oneself in culture and the ability to travel to places you only normally see via the television and dream to visit? Sharleen Wright explores the world of Malta and what this highly successful Junior Eurovision Island has to offer those beyond the Song Contest.

Into another Eurovision week we go. Next weekend will see the fourteenth Junior Eurovision Song Contest and ESC Insight will naturally be out in force to cover the seventeen acts looking to lift this year's trophy. And no matter what you might think of Junior, it has every right to be 'a Eurovision Song Contest'.

What glitters? What sparkles? What entertains about ten million Brits on a Saturday night? What has a producer-led running order and a weirdly underwhelming trophy? Indeed, it's the BBC's 'Strictly Come Dancing.' Ellie Chalkley looks at the flagship Saturday night show and what lessons it could teach the UK's Eurovision entry.

Eurovision fans can often see connections to their beloved Contest in everything, so is it any surprise that our resident American, Samantha Ross, sees shades of the Song Contest in the US Election Cycle?
