There’s still hope to head to Eurovision… Written by on November 26, 2012

So you missed out on tickets to the Eurovision final?  Not surprisingly, many did, and especially if you hailed from Australia.  Reports are filtering through of hour-long queues on the phone, line drop-outs and the fact that not enough warning was given to fans about the restriction on non-European credit cards not being accepted through the official ticket seller.  But Sharleen Wright has an alternative to all that trouble, and could sort out your accommodation woes at the same time…

Bentours, the Australian specialists for Scandinavian travel, have now launched a special Eurovision tour departure for 2013.  The tour was developed following a growing local Australian interest in Eurovision, and a record number of travel enquiries to attend the contest in Malmo.

The 15-day tour entitled “Eurovision Capitals”, starts on 5th May taking in host cities from the past 13 years of Eurovision including Helsinki, Tallinn, Riga, Stockholm and Copenhagen.  The itinerary culminates with a 7 night stay close to the action in Malmo to ensure fans that they are on the ground to attend dress rehearsals, both semifinals and the final on Saturday 18th May.

The tour includes tickets to both semi-finals and the final within the special fan-area on the dancefloor, guaranteed hotel accommodation with breakfast, intercity transport, and privately guided expert sightseeing in each of the cities is included on the tour.

This represents not only a chance to explore the Nordic and Baltic regions that Malmo is centred in, but a great opportunity for fellow fans to meet and share the moment at the Eurovision Song Contest.

In the spirit of this, Bentours, whilst Australian-based, is encouraging all interested people – not just Australian fans – to sign up to the tour group experience.

Costs start at $3350 AUD per person based on twin share.

For more information, including a full itinerary, please visit the Bentours website.
