Eurovision Wars is not a new series. During 2022 it was a Spotify exclusive, but we are proud to welcome Phil Dore to the ESC Insight team, and we are delighted to present Eurovision Wars to a wider audience over the next weeks and months.

ESC Insight Presets… Eurovision Wars: Russia vs Ukraine, Part One

This is the first of a three-parter looking at how geopolitical tensions between Russia and Ukraine spilled over into the Eurovision Song Contest. Part 1 runs from 2014 to 2016. Expect to hear about an anthem to genocide, a peace song performed by a hardcore Putin supporter, and of course, a giant hamster wheel.

This episode of Eurovision Wars was originally broadcast in July 2022. It is hosted by Phil Dore, guests with Dr Jamie Halliwell and Julie Hasseris.

The ESC Insight Extended Universe?? We’re blaming Sam Ross for that label, but it has stuck in our editorial office, so there we go. We’ve always hoped to be a wide church of content, so it does fit. Unfortunatly…But if you want to see if you can be a part of Insight, read more here.
