It’s been a rather busy day with the second run-through of the first Semi Final, and the first look at France and Spain on the Globen stage. Which means… (deep breath) …Finland, Greece, Moldova, Hungary, Croatia, The Netherlands, Armenia, San Marino, Russia, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Austria, Azerbijan, Montenegro, Iceland, Bsnia & Herzegovina, Malta, France, and Spain.
Eurovision Insight Podcast: Daily News From Stockholm, Saturday 7th May
A huge run today with all of the first semi-finalists on stage, plus France and Spain’s Globen debut. Ewan Spence is joined by Samantha Ross (ESC Insight) and Gavin Lambert (ESCtips).

Again an excellent podcast.
Gavin may speak from a punter point of view but when he likes or dislike a song he get rid of his professional attitude and say exactly what he thinks(for better or for worse).
Azerbaijan/Armenia – When speaking over their chances of qualifying did anyone mention that they aren’t giving each other any point at all? It may not be that harmful for Armenia(because it seems to be a strong song) but in the case of Azerbaijan that may be the difference between qualifying and non qualifying.
I agree with Shai. This was an excellent podcast. I really like these ESC Insight/ESC Tips collaborations – with the addition of Gavster’s cold profit-driven rationality. Now we have had the second rehearsals from Semi – One it is easier to make a judgment on who is going through – in order of certainty:
Russia, Armenia, Malta;
Czech Republic (I suspect this will be jury top 4); Iceland
Netherlands (although the moment of silence is a huge risk), Cyprus, Hungary;
Bosnia;
Then 1 from; Greece, Austria, and Azerbaijan (Azerbaijan has the strongest song of the three but Greece may prevail owing to staging and diaspora/neighbour voting.
Far too many songs to go through individually again so here are my definite qualifiers, based on all the rehearsals…
Armenia
Austria
B&H
Cyprus
Czech Republic
Hungary
Iceland
Malta
Russia
One of these two to make up the ten – Greece or The Netherlands.
The rest? No chance…
