The Weekend Results Start With A Tirana Fairytale Written by on December 28, 2015 | 1 Comment

The first regular weekend of National Final action saw the fifty-fourth edition of the legendary Festivali i Këngës. After the marathon, we have another name for the Stockholm 2016 roster.

This Week’s Results

Just one for the notebook this weekend from Albania, as Eneda Tarifa wins Festivali i Këngës and the right to represent Albania at the Eurovision Song Contest. The winning song was ‘Përrallë‘ by Olsa Toqi, although there is no guarantee yet if this will be the song that Tarifa will take into the Globe Arena.

Coming Up This Week

One notable date for the diary is Sunday 3rd January, which will see the Belgian artist presentation and our first potential listen to the five songs from Adil Aarab, Astrid Destuyver, Tom Frantzis, Laura Tesoro, and Amaryillis Uitterlinden.

ESC Insight On The Road

Ben Robertson sacrificed his family Christmas Day to spend it in Tirana to attend Festivali i Këngës 54. He’s making his way back now, and will have a report from behind the scenes from the long-running music show here on ESC Insight in the near future.

  1. Nice to see that we’ll have a ‘Bond theme’ this year, as in 2014 and 2015! Apparently it’s already been announced that it’ll be sung in English in Stockholm – seeing a couple of interviews with Eneda earlier today, I don’t think that swapping languages will be an issue as she sounds pretty fluent…
