Newsletter: The Junior Difference Written by on November 17, 2015

Welcome to the ESC Insight Newsletter live from sunny Sofia! You can view the Newsletter in full on this link and or alternatively subscribe to get it delivered straight to your inbox.

In this week’s edition we of course focus on Junior Eurovision and highlight the best places to get your news and reviewing the activities so far. Robertson’s Reflection, our column by Newsletter Editor Ben Robertson, this week points out the differences in atmosphere between Junior Eurovision and its springtime bigger brother.

After the running order draw people all mingled together and old friends were all reunited. There is of course a familiar cohort of press room stalwarts all assembled around me live tweeting and running from the arena to get uploading videos as fast as they can. However there’s a key difference to the Eurovision circus here at Junior Eurovision; calmness. There’s not a franticness to the Press Centre or a competitive frostiness that can come over both artists’ and delegations’ careers and livelihoods depend on reaching a Saturday night slot.

The next Newsletter will preview the Saturday show with a Friday release date, and we’ll review all that happens in Sofia once we settle back at home on Monday rehearsal.
