Newsletter: Red Carpet Review Written by on May 19, 2015

Welcome to another ESC Insight Newsletter. Published just before the First Semi Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2015, this edition of the Newsletter reviews the best Eurovision news we can find around the web and goes through all the latest work of the tiring ESC Insight team. Get the link here.

In this week’s Robertson’s Reflection the Newsletter looks at the behind-the-scenes Red Carpet experience. Mingling around the Press pit at the Opening Ceremony, Newsletter Editor Ben Robertson noticing a few interesting highlights to share with you.

It’s a great place as well to meet people and it’s always nice to find those like from the Swedish fan club or from other sections of the Eurovision bubble. Most touching though was being introduced to possibly the most proud parent that that Eurovision community has ever witnessed (and no, that isn’t Axel Hirsoux’s mother). Her son is the drummer of the Finnish band and she’d gathered the family to be around for the Red Carpet experience, as close as they all could get in the acts without accreditations. When they walked past they went absolutely tear-jerkingly mental and I felt in the middle of a wonderful moment, and we recommended the Leopold Museum which have some artwork based on the band currently on display.

Don’t miss out on any of the ESC Insight Newsletter’s that are thick and fast at the moment, being published every two days. Sign up for the Newsletter to come to your inbox today.
