Yay for F1 references. And the moon on a stick!
You are just now making these podcasts for me cause I am stuck in Australia this year, aren’t you Ewan?

  2. Well done John and Kylie – great debuts!

  3. John Egan says:

    Thanks Martin!

  4. Esceire says:

    Please don’t qualify Malta!

  5. Esceire says:

When San Marino qualified I was in the arena with my face in my head saying “wtf” but in a good way >:), First envelop will be a song people are kinda meh on interms of there chances of qualifying but in the end its turns out that country sailed into the final 😛

  6. Fatima says:

Ewan, do they say “Full English Breakfast” in Scotland ? Or is there such a thing as a Scottish Breakfast ?

  7. Ewan Spence says:

Fatima, yes, you do get a ‘Full Scottish Breakfast’.

The impressions video of the Slovenian performance looks very static. As we don’t get the camera angles, what I can’t tell is whether for most of the song the camera focuses in on the singer’s face as it did in the National Final. The singer is very engaging and if the focus remains on her I think it will come across well to the viewer. I’ve puts bets on Latvia and Cyprus to get top 10 in the final – both at 5/2. From your comments these are looking good value.

  9. Fatima says:

Thanks for the quick reply Ewan. You always get a great mix of people to talk on your podcast and they’re all excellent. I was particularly interested by John Egan’s claim to have heard the songs 55 times. I got up to 50 a few days ago and felt that was enough, even though I’d planned at least one listen every day before the final. Now I think that I (and they) will benefit from the rest.

  10. Eric Graf says:

First envelope will be Azerbaijan. Last envelope will be Sweden. Iceland will be somewhere in the middle.

None of the envelopes will be Israel. It will be somewhere in the vicinity of 15th place again. And again, that’s where it belongs. It’s. Just. Not. Good. Enough. He looks silly in that bulky suit with his shirt tail out and his future-BBC-promo-footage shoes, and the song is just as much of a mish-mashed mess as San Marino’s.
