And just like that, we have a Contest with forty countries, although if you had asked the average fan last week who country #40 would have been, very few would have guessed Australia. It’s certainly drawing attention to the 59th birthday of the Eurovision Song Contest, but there’s much more news than ‘we’re entering’ (although congratulations Turkey on joining in, even if we have to wait till 2016.

    turkey coming into the eurovision this year will make what is a very competitive semi final way more competitive

    It’s Eurovision’s 60th this year, not 59th.

    60th show, 59th birthday. It’s the start of the diamond year, that;s like celebrating saying you are two years old one year after you were born.
