Eurovision Insight Podcast: Russian Sneaks In At The End Written by on March 22, 2014 | 3 Comments

We’re in the quiet period now. The ultra-competitive National Final period is over, and there are only two more voting windows to go through before we find our Eurovision Song Contest Winner for 2014 (and even then we might have a winner that has to face only one more vote).

So there is nothing going on, but everything going on as well. For the delegations there are a lot of rehearsals, a lot of promotion, and all the planning needed to send the team to Copenhagen.

We’re planning at ESC Insight as well, with lots of content for the site to take you through March and April, when we’ll be in Denmark to bring you all the action.

We have our 37 songs, so let’s recap the final selections from the 2014 Nationals Seasons, the last internal selections, and a bit of a call to arms from Norway’s Oda and Christer (thanks to a heads up from Roy Delaney and Eurovision Apocalypse).

Don’t miss an episode of The Unofficial Eurovision Podcast by subscribing to the RSS feed dedicated to the podcasts. iTunes users can find us in the iTunes Store and get the show automatically downloaded to your computer. We’ll be here for the rest of the new Eurovision season, with podcasts, news, articles, newsletters, and more.

I’d question whether it is that bad to be drawn 23 for Denmark – if most of the strong songs were drawn in the first half [not that many that are strong enough to win] it could be a vote sweeper at the end. It’s a safe enough song and Basim can deliver on execution. Could place high enough with each juror get pushed upwards and a half decent public vote = and it’s over the line.

“Special Why Eurovision”? It’s Gemma Abbey, isn’t it? 😉

I hate this month off between the national finals and rehearsals when nothing much happens. We don’t even have the stage-building blog from Ola / M&M Productions to look forward to this year, because DR are doing it themselves.

Hopefully the articles here will stop me from going completely mad while we wait for things to start moving again!

Sorry to disappoint, but no. Still, you want me to ask her? :-p
