Now the Winter Olympics are out of the way, there is an avalanche of results from last week, and even more shows coming up this weekend. It’s very busy time to be a Eurovision broadcaster with live shows to select the Songs for Europe to be prepped and broadcast.
Or you put something on the Red Button interactive channel if you are the BBC, but hey, we have an artist, an announcement and a song that many of the UK fans are happy to get behind, and that others outside the country are crediting as being a ‘good song’, which is wonderful. And it exposed many UK fans to some great indie artists in the phoney-name days as well, which is another win.
Eurovision Insight Podcast: It’s Not ‘Children of the Revolution’!
Results from around Europe, with five songs and artists winning NFs, internal announcements, NF results, and music from the UK singer that wasn’t in the voice of Holly Drummond.

Beautiful performance from Holly Drummond there.
It just goes to show how important it is to have a good match between singer and song, something that we lacked in 2012 when the Hump clearly didn’t get on with the song at all.
Love your comment about “Freedom For Tooting” – you need to be my age (47) to get that one though!
Peter, agreed, which is why the singer-songwriter combo makes a lot of sense to ‘reboot’ ESC in the UK.
Excellent podcasts, thanks.
