Here we go, as the calendar year of 2014 catches up with the Eurovision 2014 year we’ve been living since, well, September 1st if we’re honest. A result from Albania and a name from Armenia is the big news, but we’ve got National Final line-ups to go through and travel plans to decide as we go through the show.
Of course we have the EBU news as well, with 36 countries declared for the Contest (and Slovenia still haggling) it’s all set for the Handover Ceremony and semi-final draw on Monday!
Eurovision Insight Podcast: We have 36 (plus 1) for the Island
It’s the first podcast of 2014, and there’s a bundle of results, running orders, and news headlines to go through, with a musical mash-up from Dan Mei to finish.

That Dan Mei mashup is EPIC!!!!!!! Thanks Ewan!
36 going on 37 then. 🙂
Time flies by! A Dal 14 sounds very promising. ‘Cake to bake’ is sweet, but I have not warmed up to it yet. Tonight, I’ll be rooting for Jasmin’s song from UMK and hoping to see Monika reaching the next stage.
UMK has good songs on offer with two obvious exceptions:
‘On top of the world’
‘My little honey bee’
The Lithuanain NF has several good singers trying their luck with one obvious exception – Martynas Kavaliauskas – loved by the televoters though.
Good luck to all hopefuls.
