Join Us On Copenhagen’s Eurovision Island! Written by on September 2, 2013 | 2 Comments

And we have confirmation… the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 will be held at the Copenhagen’s Refshaleøe at B&W Hallerne.

The previously announced dates remain, with the two semi-finals on Tuesday May 6th and Thursday May 8th, with the grand final on Saturday May 10th, starting at 9pm Central European Time.

DR’s Exec Producer, Pernille Gaardbo:

We are looking forward to welcoming Europe in Copenhagen, which is full of cultural diversity, has an excellent infrastructure and a variety of hotels. At the chosen venue we have the opportunity to realise our creative ambitions. The entire area around the B&W Hallerne will be transformed into Eurovision Island, where delegates, press and fans will come together.

Details on event tickets, accommodation, and accreditation, are not yet available, but be assured that ESC Insight will be covering the build up to Eurovision 2014, and reporting from backstage on ‘Eurovision Island’.

Let’s start with one bit of advice though. Everyone who was at Malmö needs to remember one rule. Turn the other way when you come out of the airport (unless you decide to stay on the other side of the Oresund Bridge in Sweden).

It is a little bit alarming when the 2014 producer, live on DR as I write this, has little idea of what he is talking about. For one thing, he apparently believes that Terry Wogan is still commenting for BBC. They reportedly hired him out of LA, but that is certainly no recommendation as far as I’m concerned.

Oh I missed that one! Should we get Terry Eurovision on stand-by?
