Eurovision Insight Podcast: Daily Chat from Malmo, Thursday 9th May Written by on May 9, 2013 | 2 Comments

Our final day at the EuroClub version of the Press Centre is here, but there’s still lots of rehearsals to watch on the big screen, artists to interview, and performances to look back over.

It’s the turn of the second semi-finals to be discussed by Ewan, with help from Garrett Mulhall and Luke Fisher. What’s working, what isn’t, what needs improvement, and what can’t be saved?

I’m going to say that this might be Finland’s worst year on record. It’s just one big car crash of a song, so much so that it would give San Marino’s song from last a very good run for its money…… and we all know how bad that song was. ( to be fair, I’ve only heard a few song via sbs eurovision radio and it would be say 3 or 4 songs from the contest this year)

Also, Luke should be disqualified from the podcast for having a conflict of interest lol 🙂 ( I’m only joking around)

Something that isn’t been talked about it the bookmakers putting Denmark as winning the whole shebang and how the bookmakers had been right in saying who would win the contest 9 out of the last 10 years….

San Marino? Azerbaijan? High-brow? More like overwhelmingly pretentious and pseudo-profound…

I doubt the lesbian kiss will have much of an impact upon Finland’s chances of scoring highly in eastern Europe, simply because it is girl-on-girl rather than guy-on-guy. And keep in mind that the main reason t.A.T.u. reached their level of fame was because of faux-lesbianism.

Malta could easily qualify, but I doubt they will win – after all, look what happened to similarly twee Switzerland ’11…

Bulgaria seem to be pulling themselves together after a ramshackle “NF” process with what looks like a very strong performance indeed in the making. Elitsa certainly is a dislikeable lady though – racist, arrogant and corrupt 🙁
