It’s almost time for the 2012 Junior Eurovision Song Contest tot get under way, with twelve countries preparing to take to the stage, 55 performers ready to sing in front of a world wide audience, and a live stream on JuniorEurovision.tv so everyone around the world can watch.
Of course anyone watching the official stream misses an important part of the Eurovision experience – the commentary – and ESC Insight has a long tradition of stepping up and providing commentary tracks both for the internet viewers, and those of you looking for an alternative to your national broadcaster.
Once more, I’m joined by Luke Fisher (EscXtra) to take you through tonight’s performances. For technical and legal reasons mean syncing up with the live broadcast without the help of the lots of Avro technicians you need to do a little bit of work, so grab the MP3, cue it up in your audio player of choice, be it portable on headphones, or on your PC. Feel free to start listening whenever you want, but starting as the show starts is fine.
To repeat, for technical and legal reasons mean syncing up with the live broadcast without the help of the lots of Avro technicians you need to do a little bit of work, so grab the MP3, cue it up in your audio player of choice, be it portable on headphones, or on your PC. Feel free to start listening whenever you want, but starting as the show starts is fine.
I’ll remind you in the show, but when you hear a beep, you pause the track, watch the song performance, then start up the track again. Don’t stop for adverts or cutaways, just for the music. As for the starting point, listen to the podcast, and hit pause when requested. As the final note of Euphoria (yep, Euphoria) triggers the pyrotechnic, unpause the commentary and let’s Break the Ice together!
Junior Eurovision 2012: The Alternative Commentary
It all ends with this. Two hours, live around the world. To choose one song. Finish the journey with Ewan Spence and Luke Fisher (EscXtra). We’ll take you through the twelve songs with everything you need to know. Press play before the show starts, and don’t forget to pause for the music when you hear the beep!
