With a total of 138 points the winner of Junior Eurovision 2012 is Anastasiya Petryk for Ukraine.
In front of an energetic crowd at Amsterdam’s Music Hall, hosts Ewout and Kim-Lian handed over the stylised trophy to the singer of Nebo..
Following an emphatic collection of the top scores which included the traditional ‘automatic’ twelve points for Junior Eurovision performers and the new ‘kids jury’, the victory was decided by 35 points, with Georgia in second place on 103, and Armenia in a close fight with Russia to take third place from Lerika.
Where Junior Eurovision goes to next is still up in the air, but the 2012 Contest is going to be a memory that lives forever in the minds of the 55 performers. Will we see more from Petryk in the future? I think we can count on it. When can she sing in Adult Eurovision?

She has good vocal and did a strong performance but the song wasn’t my cup of tea. I personally think the winner was decided by a jury who went for it while the public chose Georgia (also, not my favorite). Or maybe I am wrong and people liked “Nebo” but I just don’t get the song – it was a bit out there for my taste. Anyways, congratulations to Ukraine with it’s first victory!
Ukraine was my favourite, but I never imagined it could win.
Armenia did better than I expected as well.
It’s the first JESC I’ve followed; I obviously misjudged it.
