As Halloween approaches, it’s time to uncover the horrible relics of Eurovisions past that have been subject to cruel and unusual musical experimentations.
Or mash-ups as the new generation would call them.
Personally I’m still with Humphrey Lyttleton’s “One Song to the Tune of Another” but these five classics are a little bit more subtle than that.
Secret Garden (Nocturne) and Bill Conti (Gonna Fly Now aka “The Theme from Rocky”)
Charlotte Perrelli (Hero) and Lady Gaga (Poker Face)
Andy Abraham (Even If) and Michael Jackson (Don’t Stop ‘till You Get Enough)
Sirusho (Qele, Qele) and Britney Spears & Maddonna (Me Against the Music)
Lena Meyer-Landrut (Satellite) and Alexander Rybak (Fairytale), performed by K.D. Knilsson
(Not strictly a mash-up of the originals, but more a mash-up of the sheet music – it’s still fantastic though).
Got any more you want to add? Let us know in the comments.
And yes, that’s me in my Halloween outfit from last year as a Eurovision Host. Be afraid…
