That was the Eurovision that was. As always, so many points have been brought up by the Contest to discuss over the summer. Before that, its time for our traditional epilogue podcast recorded as the team leaves the host city behind and heads back to what some call ‘real life’.

Your sad version of Te Deum always gets to me, just like Paul McCartney & Wings Crossroads theme after someone dies. Thanks for all the insight and entertainment from Liverpool 2023.
First time on the ground at Eurovision. I have so much to say but I’ll keep to three ‘take-aways’. 1. BBC – The much criticised broadcaster did an excellent job with the production. Being in the arena was an experience. 2. Liverpool – It felt like the whole city had really embraced Eurovision. A lot of people in the arena the day we went were from the local area. 3. The fans. – My wife and I got chatting in a rain-swept restaurant entrance to a brother and sister who had already seen 3 shows and were still trying for more tickets. The woman revealed she had already spent £3000 and counting on her week in Liverpool. Now that’s what I call a true Eurovision fan.
