March 18th 2020 marked a momentous day in Eurovision Song Contest history. It was the first time in the Song Contest’s 65-year history that the European Broadcasting Union cancelled the annual Contest as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
What followed was an unbelievable series of digital initiatives by everybody in the Eurovision community as they worked tirelessly to keep the joys of the Song Contest, staying true to the contest’s promise to use music to bring people together from around the world. In ESC insight’s ‘Digital Quartets’ documentary, Fin Ross Russell talks to four people involved with different parts of the Contest to get their perspectives on how these initiatives will affect the future of our Eurovision Song Contest.
