All of these comments are based on the vocals but obviously from the perspective of a 47 year old – of course, decent staging could make any of them JESC beaters (a la Common Linnets)…
Cyprus – vocals sounds good and catchy but I wonder if there will be a lot of this sort of track? It will be memorable so I think it will be a HIT
Montenegro – Sounds like it is the start of a Hannah Montana episode! It isn’t that memorable and it will sink like a stone. Ballads seem to work for the Montenegrin adults this year…maybe next year! MISS
Slovenia – I like this! Nice emotion, well sung but I’m not sure that there is enough there to hook anything on. It will also need the singer to be spot on with their vocals as it could all go horribly wrong. MAYBE
Armenia – Very happy and buoyant, liking the chanting in the background, it sticks in the brain. Agree with you guys, if it is staged well, it could be one to watch. HIT
As I am not a huge fan of JESC, these entries actually sound less child-like than I thought they would – I am quietly impressed…
