Zis disembowlment of our beautiful Belgian song is an outrage! We, here in Belgium, love our fabulous song, where it has been ze No1 for the past 17 weeks…
David, thanks for the competition, The simple fact is this. At the end of the day, someone has to win Eurovision, and 42 other songs will be “loosers” to a certain extent. We make no bones about the Juke Box Jury shows being opinion, and the definition of Hit, Miss, Maybe has never had a concrete fixed point. In that show, the three judges (the two guests and myself as the host), do what we always do – we listen, discuss, and rate em. And we have comments here and on Facebook so people can reply themselves.
The comments for Belgium were waaaay too positive! 😉 I’d rather have listened to that kid screaming in the background! 😉
Bosnia & Herzegovina: Love in Rewind, by Dino Merlin. – pleasant enough.
Greece: Watch My Dance, by Loukas Giorkas, ft Stereo Mike. – this is a sleeper – expect decent choreography.
Belgium: Baby With Love, by Witloof Bay. – it’s been done and it doesnt do well.
Slovenia: Vanilija, by Maja Keuc. – I cant remember it and I dont expect anything from them.
Hungary: What About My Dreams, by Kati Wolf. – good song, wish it well.
Finland: Da Da Dam, by Paradise Oskar.- torn; kind of boring, kind of ok, kind of forgetable.
Finland is cute, and i think he will qualify
Greece – very interesting choice, interesting to see them qualify or not, the song don´t deserve to qualify, but it´s Greece…
BosniaHerzegovina – good, will do well, but not a winner.
Belgium – will we see the first “nul points” in Semifinal History?
Slovenia – not bad, not good
Hungary – i really like this song, even the hungarian part
I really don’t get the hype behind the Bosnian song. It’s just not that interesting to me. It doesn’t have any relisten value.
And the Hungarian song loses something not in Hungarian. In my opinion, one chorus, maybe the one after the Hungarian verse, and the last few lines should be in Hungarian.
It’s a bit like “Probka” (Latvia 2009), which was originally “Sastrēgums” in Latvian. Although at least Kati Wolf/MTV translated the song to English, as opposed to Russian. And this is coming from someone who speaks Russian and not Latvian.
@ Matthias Didn’t that song celebrate (Switzerland 2004) get nul points in the semi final? I love the Dino Merlin song and quite frankly its got A LOT of views on youtube compared to others so for me I think it could be a lock for top 5… provided they stop all the foot stomping
Greece – sharp intake of breath. They don’t want to win. I don’t want them to. I think it was a fix for Nikki Ponte to not which
Belgium…It sounds less bad than I remember but I think that the way that most of Europe will perceive it the way I did when I first heard it…EAR RAPE…plus they are kinda old I think they think what they are doing is cooler than how we see it as viewers… like Cosmos from Latvia oh and LOL@ ‘I don’t know how either Ewan but that’s what’s happened’
Slovenia is a Maybe for me… sometimes I love it and others it just seems like it goes on and on… but I honestly have no Idea
Hungary – Hit for me. I don’t think Hungary often gets what it deserves: Forog Vilag, Aproskya Blues, And now this… And i also think they should sing more in Hungarian I love the language. But it is definitely featuring well in the final if there are no vocal hiccups…Its very poppers o clock
Finland. I abhor songs about the planet but other people seem to like it so its a Maybe and I soooooooooooo prefer Tom Dice to this… He was charming but this Paradise Oscar fellow is just smarmy
