Svindlande Affärer is a Wahlgren song that I enjoy much more from 1985.
And from Sanremo Una Storia Importante and Tu dimmi un cuore ce l’hai are two of my favourite Italian songs of all time.
I started to lose interest in the British charts form mid 85, pop music in the 80s seemed on the downward curve by then. Though in retrospect Italodisco had a good year in 85 and 86, so the 80s slowdown wasn’t immediate.
I didn’t see the 85 contest at the time (but I some earlier like the 84). In retrospect my favourite has been the Finnish song, the best Finnish entry ever. The winner does little for me, it’s professionally performed and arranged but very middle of the road. The Swedish song also not that exciting.
