As well as in the countries of the participating broadcasters, this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be broadcast live in the UK, Singapore, New Zealand, and the United States of America. Join the ESC Insight team live on Sunday as we bring you the JESC experience with commentary, analysis, and all the excitement from Malta.

For the fourth year, ESC Insight’s Ewan Spence will be behind the microphone to commentate on the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

Thanks to an arrangement between the EBU and Radio Six International, this year’s Contest will be the first to have a radio broadcast over all of the United Kingdom, as well as broadcasts in the US, Singapore, and New Zealand.

Ewan will be joined in the commentary booth by Lisa-Jayne Lewis to cover the seventeen songs, with Sharleen Wright and Ben Robertson arriving for the half-time show and the brand-new scoring system.

The Junior Eurovision Song Contest To Be Broadcast Across The United Kingdom And Beyond!

Friday 18th November 2016. Valletta, Malta and Glasgow, United Kingdom – This year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be broadcast around the world, through an arrangement between the European Broadcasting Union and Radio Six International.

The Glasgow-based Radio Six (www.radiosix.com) is producing the show for a number of stations around the world in the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Singapore, and the United States of America. The broadcast allows Junior Eurovision to reach out beyond the participating nations and explore new territories.

Tony Currie, Director of Programmes at Radio Six International: “As in past years, Radio Six International is proud to be able to provide and distribute distinctive coverage to our world-wide network of affiliate stations of this annual major media event.  Our world-wide audience has been enjoying all the excitement of the JESC through our daily teatime preview programmes, and we look forward to a weekend of great radio thanks to our wonderful team of broadcasters in Malta.

The radio broadcast will be hosted by the Eurovision Song Contest commentator Ewan Spence. “Junior Eurovision is one of the most exciting contest for young singers in the world. Showcasing the energy, passion and commitment from the seventeen acts is both a pleasure and an honour. “

Additional coverage will be provided by a panel of Eurovision experts including Lisa-Jayne Lewis, Sharleen Wright, and Ben Robertson.

This year will be the first time that the Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be available as a national radio broadcast in the United Kingdom through digital radio station Fun Kids (www.funkidslive.com).

    I had to google Maharau. It turns out it’s a tiny seaside settlement at the top of the South Island. And they have a community radio station! But the good news for the rest of NZ is that World FM have streaming on their website.
