Eurovision Insight Podcast: Over Coffee in Amsterdam Written by on November 27, 2012 | 5 Comments

Something a little bit more al-fresco for this week’s Insight news podcast, as I sit down with Luke Fisher (EscXtra) to look back at the week’s news in the world of Eurovision, from Malmo’s ticket to  Lisbon’s budget.

Oh and we’re in Amsterdam, because it’s Junior Eurovision week. If that’s not your thing, you can stop half way through the podcast and we’ll see you next week. For everyone else, it’s daily backstage chat, Junior Juke Box Jury, and all the fun of a Eurovision where the Netherlands know what they’re doing, Ukraine are the United Kingdom of the scoreboard, and Georgia are the perennial favourite.

This week’s Insight podcast looks at the Eurovision tickets going on sale, Melodfiestivalen’s line up for heats three and four, Portugal pulling out, and the small matter of Junior Eurovision starting in Amsterdam.

Oh no please, this idea was desastrous during Eurovision Dance contest (revealing jury voting before lines are open).
But then again I wouldn’t be surprised if this happens lol.

  2. David says:

St Christer of Bjorkman (plaintively and kneeling in front of a photograph of Lys Assia cradling the baby Logan): Please, oh mighty one, tell me what I can do to upset the fans this Thursday.

God (Voice Artist: Brian Blessed – but only because he’s cheaper than Orson Welles): This week St Christer, you will tell them that, beacuse of the high demand for tickets, you are going to move Eurovision 2013 from Malmö to … the Friends Arena in Stockholm!

  3. Ewan Spence says:

There ain’t gonna be a move, too many ice hockey players taking up the hotel rooms in Stockholm that week!

  4. Ewan Spence says:

Oh I think we were being tongue in cheek 😉

If SVT were to touch the voting process, I think SVT may have a few threats sent to them. The suggestion of an Andra Chansen round would be hillarious, there would be a fair few scenarios of a few nations that might not talk to each other afterwards eg like you said Azerbaijan & Armenia, Belarus & Russia, Iceland & Denmark.
