Time to round up the stories that have caught our eye in the last twenty four hours of The Eurovision Song Contest. From power and odds, to charts, from on the ground in the press centre and arena rehearsals, to out in the parties and the streets, we are looking for the news – this is your snack sized view of Baku.

If you’ve a story for The List, then get in touch and we’ll take a look.

The fan favourite isn’t Sweden

OGAE fanclub desk set up in the Eurovision press centre takes predictions from the accredited fans and press in attendance.  Surprisingly however, the highly tipped favourite of Sweden is not currently leading the 2nd semi voting.  All Kinds of Everything has the photo to prove this

The Australians have landed (other than our editor Sharleen)

We can officially report that popular Eurovision commentator for Australia, Julia Zemiro has arrived in Baku. First spotted in the Serbian press conference this morning, the Australian contingent is responsible for some of the most thorough coverage of the contest despite not being able to participate.  This year it includes a whirlwind tour of Europe to interview previous contestants.  Read more about their plans on Eurovision. tv

Logging on to Linda Martin

Our brothers-in-arms ESCXtra scooped big-time yesterday at the press centre, with Jedward mentor and 1992 winner for Linda Martin joining them for a exclusive live webcam session from the press centre.  See what she had to say about how much the contest has changed since she last graced the Eurovision stage here

The Joan Franka triplets

Our feature interviewee for today, Ben Morris has been spreading his wings beyond his artist studio and all the way into the hands of the Eurovision artists in Baku.  In this case, it was the lovely Joan Franka from The Netherlands who was presented with a special t-shirt by some of her UK fans – Elaine Dove and The Eurovisionary himself, David Elder.

Mandinga, everyday

Romanian hot property and media starlets, Mandinga, have impressed rehearsal attendees with a flash mob of their special dance routine out the front of the Eurovision press centre today.  Azeri News Network caught all the action on video for us.
