Eurovision Video Insight: Our new daily show from Baku Written by on May 14, 2012 | 8 Comments

Right, stop whatever you’re doing and pay attention. ESC Insight has been podcasting from Eurovision for many years (and we started the 2012 Daily Show this morning), but this year, with a bigger team, we thought we’d try some video.

Staying with the Insight hallmark of in-depth, we’re producing one long form video per day from Baku.  Here’s day one, with a look at the Press Centre, and interviews with Anmary and Rona Nishliu.

Check back with ESC Insight (or follow our RSS feed) for tomorrow’s video, and the rest of our Eurovision 2012 coverage.

Absolutely loved this! Samantha was absolutely amazing! I’m so happy you guys decided to do this this year and I definitely hope it sticks. =D

Love it! Particularly amused to see you try to interrupt Keith’s breakfast briefing video.. I wondered who he was telling to go away earlier haha

Keep up the great work Ewan and team, the daily chats are awesome.

  3. Polle says:

Too long guys! Even though you lot are very entertaining, cut it down (make it, like, 6-8 mins MAX) and it’ll be an excellent addition to the already great radio show! Jealous btw, grtz, Polle.

Rona is absolutely lovely. I just love Albania’s stuff so much, and I hope she gets through 🙂

Paul, thanks for the comment. We sat down to think about how to be “different” in video and not replicate the work of other sites who live on the “5 minute video” for the next two weeks. So we decided, even though it’s against the grain, to go long, and aim for a “TV-esque” style daily digest. I’d point out we do have short form with Terry Vision, which aims at the 60-90 second length for those looking for snippets, but we are “Eurovision In-depth” and that means video goes in-depth as well. Thanks again for the comment, much appreciated. Try the show over the night time horlicks instead of the news!

I absolutely love the daily show which isn’t too long at all imo. And the interviews are the best to be found on the net. Thanks a lot!

I really think escinsight’s coverage is just brilliant! I thought the press centre tour with Ewan was excellent, the only thing that would of made it better is if Ewan went all ‘Davina McCall on a Big Brother house tour’ and started calling everything brilliant; hugging tables; talking about spooning and been pregant (next year stick a pillow up your top). Anyway keep up the great work.

Thank you Samantha for, in Rona’s own words, “enabling [her] to be closer to those who love Albania’s entry this year.”
Understanding and creating the opportunity for her to share her thoughts is exactly what we want.
