Eurovision Insight Podcast: Leaving Dusseldorf Written by on May 17, 2011 | 7 Comments

Our final podcast dedicated to the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest is here. Gathering in the departures lounge of Dusseldorf Airport, the rather tired contributors to ESC Insight gather round the microphone to look over Contest results, and cast half an eye forward to the future and Baku 2012.

Thanks once again for all your support during our time in Dusseldorf, and we hope that ESC Insight has given you a different look at the Song Contest. You can find links to all our coverage on this page, and if you have a moment or two free, we’d appreciate a review in iTunes of the podcast.

The Final Chat from Dusseldorf
Hosted by Ewan Spence and Sharleen Wright with…

Elaine Dove (All Kinds of Everything)
David Elder (The Scotsman)
Paul Jordan (ESC Insight)
Andrew Main (All Kinds of Everything)
Donald McNaughton (ESC Insight)
Steven Newby (ESC Insight)

The podcast is going to be here throughout the summer, more than likely on a weekly basis, so to make sure you don’t miss a show, make sure you subscribe to the RSS feed dedicated to the show. ITunes users can find us in the iTunes Store and get the show automatically downloaded to your computer. You can support the site by buying this year’s Eurovision Song Contest 2011 Double CD from Amazon.

    Thanks for the Podcasts Ewan,

Take a look at this for a little bit of news, all i’ll say is if Louis wants them at Eurovision RTE will hardly reject the idea.

  3. Ewan Spence says:

This keeps Jedward in the press now, but I very much doubt that Jedward will be there next year. The *only* reason they’d go is if it was a guaranteed victory, because it’s the nly improvement possible (and I think only one song has ever arrived already crowned as the victor). They’ll be booked for Europe/Japan instead, you watch.

  4. Seán says:

I see your point Ewan but this story was also in the Irish Independent where Louis made some rather specific demands for next year and He said “I have nothing but praise for RTÉ” – you never ever say anything good about RTÉ in Ireland, Never!
Louis is up to something, thats certain – maybe he just wants a chat show or to run for President, who knows.
Imelda May would be our best choice for next year imo.

  5. Ewan Spence says:

Is Louis up to something? I think he is, but I think it’s about another act that he absolutely loves from the talent shows. JLS. I’d love to say Louis and JLS for the UK in 2012, but I was saying that in April, the second they appeared in the “Your Country Needs Blue” documentary!

  6. Conor says:

Thank you all so much for a really entertaining look at this year’s Contest. It is much appreciated!

  7. Ewan Spence says:

Thanks Conner, always great to hear from the listeners. We should be with you for weekly podcasts throughout the summer with news, Ultimate Juke Box Jury shows and the occasional Nul Points! quiz.
