Whoops, the comment that Emma Bunton made a cover version of Puppet on a String is a fallacy, she sung “Downtown” for BBC Children In Need.
As for Nel Blu Del Pinto De Blu – yes it has stood the test of time, but it used almost annually by the hosts as a part of mass crowd participation as a karaoke song. The place I spotted this song in an unusual manner was in BBC’s Top Gear in the episode that the team go on a caravanning holiday and end up “accidentally” setting not just their caravan but also a neighbouring tent on fire.
Aprez Toi doesn’t really do anything to me – it’s slow and narcoleptic in a way. Good as a lullaby but not ultimate.
Merci Cheri – another dull song, mind you I wasn’t born when this came out but even on the 50th anniversary album it’s okay as background music but not as a main song.

And Ewan I’m upset at you for dissing Birmingham’s attempt at hosting – it was okay but then again Birmingham doesn’t really have anything real character except for Jewellery, mind you the BBC could have contacted Hunter or Wolf from Gladiators to have tackled Ulrika whilst she was interpreting the points to give reference to Ulrika’s other job at the NIA at the time.
