In this week’s Newsletter we review what Romania’s DQ from Eurovision means to the rest of the Song Contest and what the fallout is from preview events in London and Malta. In addition to this are all the tips you need before you arrive in Stockholm for Eurovision…which is only a week away!
To whet your appetite, ESC Insight’s Ben Robertson can give you a few sneak previews of the EuroClub and Fan Cafe venue, which opens up fully on Monday May 2nd. Robertson’s Reflection has some goodies to get you excited.
There are three entrances. The north entrance, A, is the delegation VIP entrance. Delegations can enter a separate area on the second floor with sofas and their own bar, but this overlooks the main EuroClub stage so you can still see them! Entrance B is the main entrance which will be open when EuroClub and Fan Cafe are open from 11:00 each day. As you enter, to the left hand side is the space branded as EuroClub, and to the right is Fan Cafe.
EuroClub is going to feature two bars and a dance floor next to a substantial stage. There’s also a top secret surprise in the left hand corner of the venue which I bet will be extremely popular to keep energy levels up after the shows. Fan Cafe on the right hand side has a slightly smaller stage, but more seating as you would expect so you can sit down and enjoy a meal. The fan desk will be next to the entrance B, as well as the wardrobes. Entrance C to the south is for people working in the venue.
