Guys? I’m pissing in my pants. Can I join next year?
Not if you lack bladder control 🙂
It’s good that we didn’t make it, now rte can actually try for next year, either they make an effort or just leave the contest if they think that just getting to the final is an achievement, P.s I told you Israel would be a fanwank flop…
Think about who is in the hall and who is voting from home. Two very different crowds. Getting huge support in the hall does not equate being the favourite across Europe. I think you’re all getting carried away and caught up in the moment, but I cannot for the life of me see Austria winning. Doing well? Maybe, but only with points from the West. And again, if it was a different artist, nobody would be talking about the song – which is why I hope it won’t win. There are just so many songs that are better and musically more interesting. Just because she’s a bearded lady shouldn’t be reason enough for this to win.
Hilarious buscast, thanks everyone!
It’s a shame you couldn’t have convinced the bus driver to take another lap around the block or four.
Stop deluding yourselves, Netherlands are winning whether you like it or not 😛
I agree with Harriet, there will be to much homophobia across Europe for It to win, because for all we know she might have just crept in at 10th ( or even count back), personally I think Austria are on for a top 5 but I don’t think it will have the support it will require to get a victory.
When NL wins I’ll be very happy for the Contest. Personally my views on the song are well recorded, but a ‘song’ that sells across Europe, builds a career, and provides relevancy, is a wonderful thing.
That Benny has lost the plot if he thinks Austria are going to win with the biggest margin ever
Austria will not score the biggest victory of all time with their 70s bond theme. Beard or no beard.
I am no fan of “Same Heart”, did not support Israel before last night and had my doubts about about their chances to qualify. Neverthelss, Israel being left behind last night is scandalous imo. Mei gave a fantastic performance that certainly deserved a place in the final.
I begin to fear that there is a strong anti-Israel bias in ESC these days, which is very sad to wittness.
I wouldn’t be surprised either if Israel withdrew for good next year.
Conchita finally won me over last night. I had Austria in 4th place. However, I would be very surprised if “Rise Like a Phoenix” won. I think that Conchita will come 5th to 10th.
Slovenia was the biggest positive surprise. I had always found the song boring and enjoyed it for the first time last night. Well done!
My top 3 from last night:
1. GRE
2. MLT
3. SWI
Can we have an in-depth Sam Ross special “reflections on the song contest” next week filled with metaphors and revelations? As if she wasn’t fabulous enough already, sam also isn’t afraid to admit when she had egg on her face re San Marino, a humility that would be nice across the podcast. Geoff is an idiot.
