In typical tradition of ESC Insight, you won’t find the usual blogging of song reviews, or news updates online.  But that doesn’t mean we don’t love reading others. Keeping one eye on the rehearsals/press conferences, there is need as media to read the most recent gossip and news.

Google predicts 2011 Eurovision winner

Google have now jumped on board the Eurovision bandwagon by using google search numbers to predict the winner of this years song contest.  Jedward and Lena have been leading the voting from the start, but with Eurovision mania finally hitting the wider public this week with the start of the shows, the ratings from 3rd onwards are fluctuating widely.

Sweden breaks through

After being given extra time to rehearse their glass box gimmick late on Friday night, Sweden finally made a breakthrough.  Thats not before Eric lost his cool on the first attempt which failed.  Mouths were agape amongst the press centre viewers.

OGAE party bigger than ever

The Eurovision fanclub party took place on Friday night at the Euroclub with more than half the participants attending.  23 artists appeared on stage to perform their song (and sometimes more), and the hall was filled with very appreciative fans and also hungry cameramen fighting hard to get their five minutes with Frances’s Amaury Vassili.
