Eurovision Insight Podcast: Chat from Dusseldorf, Saturday 7th May Written by on May 7, 2011 | 3 Comments

Just one week from the final, and there’s still no song that’s pulling ahead and making a claim for victory. Perhaps one of the Big Five countries will do just that in their first rehearsal in the Dusseldorf arena today.

The Big Five is a subject of some debate, but the financing of the Song Contest makes their automatic qualification for the Saturday night something that is needed, and we’ll talk about that, chat about yesterday’s performances, and more on the daily ESC Insight from Germany.

Daily News from Dusseldorf, Saturday 7th May
Hosted by Ewan Spence and Sharleen Wright, with…

Elaine Dove (All Kinds of Everything)
Luke Fisher (ESC Daily)
Steven Newby (ESC Insight)
John Stanton (Eurovisionary)

I still think France will struggle to do it.

Great Podcast as always, really enjoyed Big 5 discussion.

  2. BJ Murphy says:

    I predicted France months ago…

Germany is maybe strange, but it is how Eurovision should be, modern and new, and Germany is even some kind of avangarde.

France, well, it would be a bad step back for the whole event if we have a opera-song winning. Yes, it´s Opera, there is nothing like Pop in this song, so it´s not Popera how France like to promote it.
France as country would be a great host for next year, but like i said before, the Song would be a bad winner for the Future of ESC
