Next week of course each song is going to be judged by the jury and audience votes from around the continent, but for now they have to face up to ESC Insight’s own Sharleen Wright, and ESC Daily’s Luke Fisher.

It’s time for a bit of Hit, Miss, or Maybe action one more time before the curtain goes up…

Another great Juke Box Jury, I agree that Spain is a great summery number but just 5 or 6 years too late for any hope. Germany is interesting and has a different feel to it but I’m not sure how it will do with the public. The same goes for Italy, I think their song is outstanding but I see that the problem will be France, they have a far more powerful song that will grab everyone by surprise on the night. But as a Brit I have to say the UK has the best chance of winning in years, this may be the first time in my life I see a top 3 for my home country, I wish Blue all the best and the support from the public is out there for them.

Let the record say I believe neitherUk nor France will win regardless of the commercial side to this. I think it will come from either Estonia (regardless of first rehersal), Ireland, Denmark or Turkey. The running order will decide a lot.

Thanks for the JBJ Podcasts Ewan, they’ve been great.

  3. Chad says:

I honestly believe Blue is the best song outta the Big 5. Don’t mind Spain or Germany but I really don’t like France or Italy. Disappointed with Italy’s choice of song to be honest and think France will seem quite flat on the night.

  4. Martin says:

I’m not convinced by the argument that France has found the balance but Italy is too specialist. I believe both have a similar public and will end up in similar positions.

Also, can we not consider Slovenia 2007 and Sweden 2009 as popera? How well did they do? I guess the jury will make France to get a better placing that these two but I genuinely do not understand the hype around France. We’ll see what happens on the night.

Thanks for the good work guys. It’s brilliant for those of us who cannot be in Duesseldorf! 🙂

    Martin

i really can´t see the hype for France, for me it´s just boring, and i can´t feel the passion in there. and where is the Pop? is pure opera for me.
