Sharp eyed readers of the website will have spotted a new addition on the top navigation bar – The 2011 Guide Book. Over the last few weeks we’ve been gathering information, stats, and our own thoughts on each of the 43 entries into this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, and while we could pop them all in a blog post a day, that’s not how ESC Insight works.
(If you want that sort of thing, can we point out the sterling job Jamie McLoughlin is doing over at Boom Bang a Blog).
No we want to go in-depth, to give you something to appreciate, that’s useful and accessible throughout the whole 2011 season, that’s a bit different to the usual online recaps. and something to use up all the ink in your printer.
So here’s our eBook with the catchy title of “The ESC Insight Unofficial Guide to Eurovision 2011.”
Inside you’ll find information on:
- The song, performer, composer and lyricist.
- Biographical information.
- Historical statistics for each country.
- Thoughts from Ewan and Sharleen on the entry.
- …and a handy space for you to take your own notes as the live shows on May 10th, 12th and 14th get ever closer.
Noted Eurovision historian John Kennedy O’Connor has written the foreword, like him we’re hoping for an exciting spectacle from the biggest musical TV show in the world. The artistic Minipop icons are from Ben Morris, and grace the cover and the individual country pages.
How to get the eBook
Our ESC Insight Unofficial Guide to Eurovision 2011 is a free download. If you’d like to share it online, we’d ask you to credit ourselves here at ESC Insight and link back to this page, rather than pointing directly to the eBook.
Thank You very much for what is a very good publication. I look forward to reading it.
Looks good and VERY useful. I’ve put on a link from my own modest little blog.
