Eurovision Insight Podcast: Three hosts, two finals and a banjo Written by on December 21, 2010 | 1 Comment

Less than two weeks left in the year, and two National Finals still to go. There’s a nice symmetry to that. Albania and Romania’s decision (in 2010) who to send to Düsseldorf (in 2011) will be in next week’s news podcast.

For now there’s the small matter of who will be hosting the show in Germany (unfortunately it’s not me), the continuing announcements of dates and formats for the thirty seven national selections that remain, and some music from prospective Latvian representative Lauris Reiniks.

Eurovision Insight Podcast: Three Hosts, two Finals and a Banjo.

This week’s news, including news on our hosts for Düsseldorf, national final plans from around Europe, a call for songs for Armenia, and all those not quite disqualifications from Estonia’s National Final. With music from Latvia’s Lauris Reiniks.

Have Your Say

  1. My tip for Latvia is also Lauris Reiniks with ‘Banjo Laura’. I am also enjoying Blitze with ‘Hop’ – rather Brainstorm-like in style, a nice piece of gentle pop-rock. I think it is flying a bit under the radar right now with fans, but should make it to the Latvian finals no problem.

For Lauris Reiniks, if he does indeed win the National Final, I say with some confidence that he will also make it out of the semis at Eurovision – something that has alluded Latvia for the last 2 years.

So there’s my two cents on the matter, but when it comes to National Finals I’ve never been a sure bet.
